Fresno Falcons News Release

LAST WEEK: Fresno went 1-1-1 last week, concluding its four-game home stand with a 2-1-1 record. The Falcons are 26-12-7 for 59 points, and are in second place in the Pacific Division.

Tuesday, February 5 vs. Utah Grizzlies 4 FALCONS 3 (SO)

Fresno's seven-game home winning streak came to an end as Utah picked up a 4-3 shootout win. The Falcons had three separate one-goal leads in the game, but the Grizzlies rallied to tie the score each time, including for the final time with 3:33 remaining in regulation. Utah out-scored Fresno 3-2 in the shootout to record the win.

Friday, February 8 vs. Utah Grizzlies 3 FALCONS 1

Utah defeated Fresno for the second straight game, defeating the Falcons 3-1. Scott Burt gave the Grizzlies a 1-0 lead in the final minute of the opening period, a lead which Utah held until early in the third period when Keith Johnson scored 48 seconds in to double the lead. But, the Falcons came right back as Matt Stefanishion cut the deficit in half just 23 seconds later. That was as close as the Falcons got, and Olivier Labelle set the final with an empty-net goal in the closing minute.

Saturday, February 9 vs. Stockton FALCONS 4 Thunder 1

The Falcons celebrated Pink at the Rink II Saturday with a 4-1 win over Stockton in front of a season-high crowd of 12,590 fans at Save Mart Center. The Thunder scored the lone goal of the opening as Brian Lee tallied four minutes into the contest, but that would be the only shot to elude Kris Mayotte on the night as he finished with 30 saves. John Morlang (2g, 2a) led the offense with four points while Igor Gongalsky (g, 2a) added three of his own for the Falcons, who scored twice on the power play and once shorthanded in the win.
