Manitoba Moose Post-Game Report - Manitoba at Lake Erie - March 18/16

Goals:

- Dan DeSalvo streaks down the left side and fires a wrist shot on the fire side under the glove of Joonas Korpisalo at 6:03 of the first period.

- Following a turnover, Brenden Kichton leads the rush and passes to Jimmy Lodge, who then passes back to Kichton in the offensive zone and he wrists one past Korpisalo at 16:04 of the second period.

- Jimmy Lodge finds a streaking Darren Kramer who goes down the left side and beats Korpisalo with a wrist shot through his five hole at 11:20 of the third period.

- While on the penalty kill, Julian Melchiori scores from behind his own net into an empty net at 17:29 of the third period.

Highlights/Notes:

- Dan DeSalvo had a goal in the game. He now has a point in all four of his first four career AHL games with two goals and two assists.

- Jimmy Lodge recorded his first two points of his AHL career both on assists.

- Brenden Kichton scored his seventh goal of the season, the most of any Moose defenceman. He sits in a tie for 18th in scoring among all AHL defencemen.

- Peter Stoykewych has an assist in back-to-back games.

- Julian Melchiori played his first game back with the Moose after playing one game up with the Winnipeg Jets on Mar. 14. He scored his first career shorthanded goal in the game.

- Andrew MacWilliam had two assists in the game for his first multi-point game of the season and fourth of his AHL career.

- Moose goaltender Connor Hellebuyck picked up his third shutout of the season and ninth of his AHL career with a 36 save performance.

- The Moose have shutout the Monsters in back-to-back games, the scores in both those games was 4-0. Manitoba has not allowed a Lake Erie goal in 122:27 of game time.

- Manitoba are now 14-1-0-1 when leading their opponent after two periods.

- This was the first time a team has defeated Lake Erie at home in regulation since Jan. 30, a stretch of nine games. Entering the game the Monsters were tied with the Albany Devils for fewest home regulation losses (5) in the AHL.

- The Monsters lead the season series 5-2-0-0 with one game to play.

The Moose will face the Lake Erie Monsters in a rematch and for the final time this season on Saturday evening at the Quicken Loans Arena at 6 p.m. CT.
