UTICA, NY - Max Friberg tucked the puck upstairs just 1:19 into the extra frame to beat the Utica Comets 2-1 at the Utica Memorial Arena in Utica, NY.
Jeremy Gregoire scored his fourth of the season in the first period from Mark MacMillian, but the Comets tied it up halfway through the third with a tally from Connor Bancks. Friberg's overtime marker came from a feed from defenceman Morgan Ellis. IceCaps netminder Zach Fucale stopped 30 of the 31 shots he faced in a second star performance.
The IceCaps continue their road trip Saturday (8:30 PM) and Sunday (6:30 PM) against the Syracuse Crunch.
