
Blackhawks Assign Rundblad to Rockford

Chicago, Ill. - The Chicago Blackhawks assigned defenseman David Rundblad to the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League, the team announced today. Rundblad was on loan by the Blackhawks to the ZSC Lions of Switzerland's National League A.
Rundblad, 25, notched two assists in nine games with the Blackhawks this season. The native of Lycksele, Sweden registered 16 points (3G, 13A) in 63 regular games over three seasons with Chicago (2013-15). The 2015 Stanley Cup champion also appeared in five 2015 Stanley Cup Playoff games.
In 11 games with Zurich this season, Rundblad has recorded two goals and 13 assists. The 25 year-old added one assist in four playoff tilts.
Over his five-year NHL career, Rundblad has scored 25 points (4G, 21A) in 113 career games with Ottawa (2011-12), Phoenix (2011-2014) and Chicago (2014-16).
Next Home Game: Saturday, Mar. 19 vs. Chicago Wolves at 7 p.m. The IceHogs conclude a home-and-home series with the Wolves at the BMO Harris Bank Center on Country Night presented by Dusty Boots Saloon. The band South 40 will be playing country music throughout the night. That game is SOLD OUT, but the IceHogs continue at home on Sunday, Mar. 20 vs. the Charlotte Checkers at 4 p.m. The IceHogs and Checkers meet for the fourth time in nine days for Star Wars Night at the BMO! Following the game, the IceHogs will host their annual live jersey auction.
