Magowan to Replace Martin at 2007 ECHL All-Star Game

(Toledo, Ohio) The Toledo Storm, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Detroit Red Wings and Chicago Blackhawks, announced today that the ECHL has named forward Ken Magowan a replacement in the 2007 ECHL All-Star Game, taking the spot from injured Storm forward Andrew R. Martin .

Magowan, a seventh round selection by the New Jersey Devils, has been one of the Storm's most consistent players this season. He leads the team with 13 goals and ranks second on the team in total points (23), while his +4 plus/minus rating also paces the team. The Kelowna, British Columbia native is also atop the team leader board with 3 shorthanded goals this season. In 195 professional games, Ken has collected 65 goals and 73 assists with 308 PIM.

Martin, the rookie from Brampton, Ontario, has been sidelined since December 21st with a groin injury. He logged 18 games with the Storm prior to the injury, averaging over a point per game (1.11) by notching 8 goals and 12 assists in that span.

The 15th Annual ECHL All-Star Game and the 10th Annual ECHL All-Star Skills Competition will be held at Qwest Arena in Boise, Idaho. The Skills Competition will be held on Tuesday, January 16th while the All-Star game will be played on Wednesday, January 17th. Both events begin at 9:00pm ET. The Storm and Cyclones will reunite this Friday night at U.S. Bank Arena in Cincinnati at 7:35pm followed by a Saturday meeting with the Wheeling Nailers at WesBanco Arena the following night. Toledo will return home on January 19th when they will once again battle the Cyclones at 7:35pm.
