Reading Royals News Release

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League and the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League, today announced that center Greg Hogeboom ("HOE geh boom") has been selected to serve as an alternate captain for the American Conference in the 2007 RBK Hockey ECHL All-Star Game and Skills Competition to be held at Qwest Arena in Boise, Idaho. The 10th Annual Skills Competition is scheduled for Tuesday, January 16, at 9:00 pm (est) (7:00 pm, MT), while the 15th Annual All-Star Game will be held on Wednesday, January 17, at 9:00 pm (est) (7:00 pm, MT).

This marks the second consecutive ECHL All-Star selection for Hogeboom (24) (6'0"/204 lbs), who was unable to play in last season's game because he had been re-assigned to Manchester at the time of the game. A fifth round pick of the Kings in 2002 from Etobicoke, Ontario, Hogeboom currently leads the Royals with 45 points (19g - 26a = 45pts) in thirty-three games.

The Royals complete a four game road trip in Wheeling, West Virginia on Friday night (7:35 pm) before returning to the Sovereign Center for back-to-back games (Saturday, 7:05 pm; Sunday, 4:35 pm) against the Cincinnati Cyclones. Royals' game night broadcasts can be heard live on ESPN Radio 1240 am (and on the internet through the Royals' website, www.royalshockey.com), beginning thirty minutes before the opening face-off. Streaming video is also available for $6.00 per game through the B2 Networks, which can be accessed through the Royals' website.
