
'Catters All-Star Baker Chosen as an Assistant Captain

Augusta, GA (January 11, 2007) Wildcatters forward Kevin Baker has been chosen as an assistant captain for the American Conference in Wednesday's 2007 Rbk ECHL All-Star Game. Baker will be starting in the game in his first ECHL All-Star appearance. Before his call-up to the AHL, Baker scored 18 goals and had 32 points with the Wildcatters. He was one of the top goal scorers in the ECHL and led the league with 11 power play goals.
Baker has been called-up twice to the AHL. He played earlier this season in two games with the Milwaukee Admirals and is currently with the Toronto Marlies. In seven total games between the two teams, Baker has three assists. He returned to the professional ranks this season after attending Acadia University. He was named Canadian University Player of the Year for his efforts last season.
Baker will be one of four Wildcatters attending the All-Star Game along with defensemen Paul Albers, Mike Madill and Head Coach Malcolm Cameron.
The 2007 Rbk ECHL All-Star Game will be held in Boise, Idaho on Wednesday, January 17 at 8 p.m. CT. The game is available locally on the NHL Center Ice Package on Time Warner Cable. The game is also available online on B2 Networks, the official Broadband Broadcast Provider of the ECHL and on satellite radio with XM radio.
The Texas Wildcatters are the ECHL affiliate for the AHL's Houston Aeros. The next Wildcatters home game is on Sunday, January 21 vs. the Pensacola Ice Pilots.
