Schell Named All Star Captain

The ECHL announced today that Gladiators All Star forward Brad Schell has been named the Captain of the American Conference team for the 2007 RBK ECHL All Star Game. The ECHL also announced that Darrell Hay of the host Idaho Steelheads will be the team captain for the National Conference.

Voted as a starter to the American Conference team on December 21st, Schell leads the ECHL in scoring with 65 points off of 15 goals and 50 assists. Schell is currently an assistant captain for the Gladiators in his third year with Gwinnett.

The Scott, Saskatchewan native set a new career record for most consecutive games with at least a point as he scored in 15 straight games for the Gladiators from November 25th through December 30th. His streak encompassed the entire month while he posted multiple points in 11 of 13 games in December.

Schell was selected in the sixth round, #167 overall in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft by the Atlanta Thrashers and is under contract to Atlanta. He has also appeared in 10 AHL games with the Chicago Wolves last season.
