Lynx Edge Blades 2-1 in a Shootout

ESTERO, FL - The Florida Everblades (5-4-5) were defeated by the Augusta Lynx (5-9-0) 2-1 in a shootout in front of sold out crowd of 7,181 at TECO Arena on Saturday night. Forward Lance Galbraith scored the final goal in the shootout to give the Lynx the win.

The Lynx struck first on a goal off the stick of forward Lance Galbraith at the 1:53 mark of the first period. Forwards Brent Gavreau and Ryan Lauzon picked up the helpers on Galbraith's first tally of the season. The Everblades then came back and tied the contest at 1-1 after forward Tom Nelson notched a shorthanded goal high on the short side at the 5:03 mark of the first period. Forward Marty Johnston and defenseman Brian Goudie registered the assists on Nelson's third goal of the season.

After a scoreless third period and overtime, forward Lance Galbraith zipped a shot past Florida netminder Rob Zepp in the shootout to give the Lynx the extra point and the win.

Florida goaltender Rob Zepp (5-2-4) stopped 41 of 42 shots he faced and saved 1 of 4 shots in the shootout while Augusta netminder Colin Zuilianello (2-2-0) stopped 45 of 46 shots and 2 of 4 shots in the shootout. The Everblades were 0 for 7 on the power play while the Lynx were 0 for 6.

Florida hits the road next week and plays four games in five nights beginning in Columbus where they battle the Cottonmouths on Tuesday, November 19th at 7 PM. The pregame show begins 15 minutes prior to face-off on Sportsradio 770 AM.
