ESTERO, FL - The Florida Everblades (5-4-4) defeated the Augusta Lynx (4-9-0) 5-1 in front of 5,636 at TECO Arena on Friday night. Florida forwards Ryan Murphy and Joe Blaznek each had two goals and Rob Zepp stopped 29 of 30 shots and picked up his fifth win of the season.

The Everblades struck first on a goal off the stick of forward Ryan Murphy at the 4:53 mark of the first period. Defenseman Duane Harmer and forward Laurent Meunier picked up the assists in Murphy's second goal of the season. The Lynx then came back and tied the contest at 1-1 after forward Brent Gavreau notched a power play goal at the 19:01 mark of the period.

After a scoreless second period, the Everblades broke the game open and made it 2-1 on the power play. Forward Marty Johnston brought the puck in front of the net and slipped it over to Joe Blaznek who deposited it in the net. Florida then took a 3-1 lead on the second goal of the night from forward Joe Blaznek at the 16:57 mark of the third period. Forward Ryan Murphy snapped a wrist shot past Augusta goaltender Colin Zuilianello to give the Everblades a 4-1 advantage. The Everblades then added a fifth goal by forward Tom Nelson to seal their fifth win of the season.

Florida goaltender Rob Zepp (5-2-3) stopped 29 of 30 shots he faced while Augusta netminder Colin Zuilianello (1-2-0) stopped 33 of 38 shots. The Everblades were 3 for 7 on the power play while the Lynx were 1 for 5.

Florida returns home on Saturday, November 16th to battle the Augusta Lynx. The puck drops at 7:30 PM.
