Men O\' War's Smith Recalled to Utah

Lexington, KY- Lexington Men O' War Head Coach/Director of Hockey Operations Jim Wiley announced today goaltender Mike Smith has been recalled to the Utah Grizzlies of the American Hockey League. Smith a 6-foot-3, 195-pound rookie will join the Grizz for a second time this season. Smith was recalled by Utah in mid-October earlier this season.

The Verona, ONT native has enjoyed a great rookie season. On October 27th he made professional hockey history by becoming the youngest goalie to score a goal. He also became the first ever goal tender to score a goal, and get a shut out in his first professional win. On the season, Smith is 2-4-2 with a 2.57 goals against average. He is currently 10th in the ECL for goals against average. Smith has posted a .913 save percentage and has not been scored on in a shootout this year.

Saturday night the MOW present "Team Photo Night". The first 2,000 fans through the gate receive a team photo which features the 2001-02 MOW posed in front of a military style Pinzgauer vehicle. The photos are compliments of A.Bastecki Chiropractic, Copy Express and the Men O' War.

Sunday fans will have a chance to lace up their own skates and test the same ice as the pros. Every Sunday home game this season allows fans to a "free skate" at 4:00. Fans will be permitted into the arena with their ticket for the game.
