Augusta Lynx News Release

The Augusta Lynx were shut out for the second consecutive game on Friday night, this time by the Pee Dee Pride in front of 2,775 fans at the Augusta-Richmond County Civic Center.

First period scoring opened at the 4:20 mark when Chad Spurr scored on a Kevin Cooper feed to make it 1-0. Gregg Johnson also notched a helper on the goal for the Pride. At 19:14 Mark Mullen scored his first of two on the night from Brian Collins and Stephen Greeley to put the Pride ahead 2-0 after the first period.

A scoreless second period gave way to Mullen's second goal of the night from Greeley and Collins at 2:58 for a 3-0 final. Nick Boucher stopped 34 shots for the win and his second shutout of the season, while Jason Saal took the loss with 30 saves.

The Lynx are back in action Saturday night at 7:35 pm against the Charlotte Checkers. It's Teddy Bear Toss Night to benefit Toys For Tots. If the Lynx score during the first period of tomorrow's game, fans are invited to throw their toys onto the ice. If no scoring occurs, the bears will be tossed onto the ice following the opening frame. Everyone who brings in a bear can show their animal at customer service tomorrow for a voucher redeemable for a ticket to a future Lynx game. Seats are available now in all price ranges through the Lynx office at (706) 724-4ICE, through all TicketMaster locations, and on line at www.TicketMaster.com.
