Rivermen Steal Two Points In Dayton

Dayton, OH – The Dayton Bombers dropped a 4-3 decision to the Peoria Rivermen in front of 2,480 at the Nutter Center Friday night. The loss snapped Dayton's 3-game winning streak.

After a scoreless first period, the Rivermen blew open a 3-goal lead with tallies from Igor Valeev (1:04), Tyler Rennette (5:37) and Justin Maiser (9:54) in the second period. JANNE JOKILA put the Bombers on the board at 16:23 of the second period, and JUSTIN KINNUNEN pulled Dayton within one, 3-2, at 1:51 of period three.

Just 1:18 seconds later, Brian McCullough gave Peoria a 4-2 lead. MICHAEL SCHUTTE pulled the Bombers back within striking distance with his 2nd goal of the season at 11:15, but the Rivermen held on for the 4-3 victory. It was the first time this season the Bombers outshot their opponent (35-24) and lost the game.

Dayton rookie forward TYLER KOLARIK recorded two assists and extended his team-high point streak to nine games (7-5-12 PTS).

The Bombers are back in action tomorrow (Saturday) night when they travel to the Peoria Civic Center to face the Rivermen at 7:00 PM. Audio coverage will be provided at daytonbombers.com.
