Chiefs Trade Lynch; Downey Waived

Johnstown, PA- Johnstown Chiefs Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Toby O'Brien announced today that the team has traded defenseman Paul Lynch to the Charlotte Checkers for cash. The Chiefs also waived forward Bill Downey and activated forward Jonathan Tremblay from injured reserve.

Lynch, 22, appeared in 14 games for the Chiefs posting one assist and 18 PIM. Downey, 23, was scoreless in three games with Chiefs.

Tremblay, 20, missed the Chiefs last three games with an injury. In 11 games this season, Tremblay has two goals and 35 PIM. Tremblay will be available for the Chiefs game tonight at Reading.

The Chiefs next home game will be Saturday December 18th when the Chiefs host the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies at 7:00 p.m. During the game, the annual Johnstown Chiefs/Power 99.1/U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots Toy Toss. All fans are encouraged to bring a stuffed toy to the game and when the Chief score their first goal of the night, throw the toys onto the ice for collection.
