Trenton Devils News Release
TRENTON, NJ (February 1, 2008) - The Trenton Devils announced today that forward Pierre-Luc Letourneau-Leblond has been reassigned by the New Jersey Devils of the National Hockey League from the American Hockey League's Lowell Devils to the Trenton Devils. This reassignment marks the second time Letourneau-Leblond has suited up for Trenton this season.
The son of Levis, QC has skated in 17 games with Lowell this season and earned three points (1g, 2a) and 28 penalty minutes. Earlier this year with Trenton Letourneau-Leblond saw action in four games. He accumulated 38 minutes in the penalty box and also gained an assist.
Letourneau-Leblond was a fan favorite when he skated with Trenton last year. He scored 13 points (4g, 9a) and racked up 183 minutes of penalties. He led the team in PIM and was 15th in the ECHL for time in the box.
The big forward also gained AHL minutes with the Albany River Rats in 2005-06, where he saw ice-time in 27 matches, gaining 2 points (1g, 1a) and 130 PIM. Letourneau-Leblond also had time with the Adirondack Frostbite of the UHL, and took to the ice for two seasons with the Baie-Comeau Drakkar of the QMJHL.
Letourneau-Leblond was selected in the 7th round (#216 overall) of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft by the New Jersey Devils.
The Trenton Devils have seen a lot of player movement with their AHL affiliate; Letourneau-Leblond is one of nine players assigned or loaned to Trenton from Lowell this year. Netminders Dave Caruso and Jason Smith, forwards Trevor Kell and Joe Rooney, and defensemen Sean Zimmerman and Zach Tarkir have also skated for both squads this season. Rooney and Zimmerman remain with the AHL franchise.
The Trenton Devils continue their three-week home stand with a tilt against the Elmira Jackals at Sovereign Bank Arena tonight at 7:30pm. Full and partial season ticket plans for 2007-08 are available by calling (609) 599-9500.
