Las Vegas Ends Seven-Game Home Stand Saturday

Las Vegas, NV- The Las Vegas Wranglers posted a 0-2-1 record this past week starting with a 2-1 overtime loss to Long Beach at home on Tuesday night. Friday night, Las Vegas was defeated 4-3 at home by Idaho. Saturday night, the defending champs bested the Wranglers 3-1 in the rematch at the Orleans Arena.

This week Las Vegas will conclude a seven-game home stand by hosting the second place Long Beach Ice Dogs on Friday and Saturday at 7:05 pm. Friday night, Las Vegas will celebrate the Duke's birthday and Saturday night "Fire and Ice" will perform at the Orleans Arena during intermissions.

Long Beach 2 at Las Vegas 1 OT

The Las Vegas Wranglers fell to the Long Beach Ice Dogs 2-1 in overtime Tuesday night in front of 3,943 fans. Las Vegas winger Dan Tudin scored his 13th goal of the season for the only Wranglers goal of the game. Ice Dogs' forwards Joe Cardarelli and Marco Rosa each scored a goal and added an assist in the Long Beach win. Las Vegas goaltender Sebastien Centomo made 23 saves for the Wranglers in the loss.

Friday, February 11th

Idaho 4 at Las Vegas 3

The Las Vegas Wranglers were defeated by the Idaho Steelheads 4-3 Friday night in front of 5,644 fans at the Orleans Arena. Defenseman Jonathan Zion scored twice to lead the Steelheads over the Wranglers. Defensemen Christian Chartier and Jason McBain, and forward Dan Tudin each scored in the Las Vegas defeat. Idaho goalie Frank Doyle made 24 saves in the win.

Saturday, February 12th

Idaho 3 at Las Vegas 1

The Las Vegas Wranglers fell to the Idaho Steelheads 3-1 on Saturday night in front of 7,078 fans at the Orleans Arena. The crowd of 7,078 marked the sixth time the Wranglers have surpassed 7,000 fans in the team's history. Idaho's Frank Lukes and Warren Peters each scored power-play goals to lead Idaho over Las Vegas for the fifth time this season. The loss marked the fifth time in team history the Wranglers have fallen below the .500 mark (20-21-5). Las Vegas rookie Dustin Johner scored his team-leading 19th goal of the season. The Wranglers' rookie needs three more goals in the team's last 26 games to set the new team record for goals in a season.

This Week's Opponents-

Long Beach Ice Dogs – (30-14-5, 65 Points) – The Ice Dogs are 3-0-1 against Las Vegas this year. Long Beach finished with 23 wins all of last season. The Dogs went 2-7-0 against Las Vegas last year. Former Wranglers winger Chris Kenady leads the Dogs with 23 goals scored and is second in scoring with 45 points. Kenady is tied for second in the ECHL for goals scored and second with seven game-winning goals. Goalie Chris Madden is 19-5-2 with a 2.14 goals against average and a .941 save percentage. Madden is tied for the league lead with five shutouts. Madden has given up nine goals in his last two starts going 0-1-1. Center Evan Cheverie leads the Ice Dogs in scoring with 17 goals and 30 assists for 47 points in 49 games played. Left wing Joe Cardarelli has four goals and nine assists for 13 points in his last ten games played. The Ice Dogs have the third highest point total in the ECHL.

Fresno Falcons – (26-17-5, 57 Points) – The Falcons are 4-1-0 against Las Vegas this year, after posting a 3-8-0 record against the Wranglers last year. Fresno is currently two points ahead of San Diego and 10 ahead of Las Vegas for the fourth and final playoff spot in the west division. The Falcons are 15-7-2 at home this season, while the Wranglers are 9-10-3 on the road. All-Star center Dan Tessier leads Fresno in scoring with 21 goals and 28 assists for 49 points in 47 games played. Right wing Shaun Sutter leads the team with 11 power-play goals, one behind league-leader Jason Notterman of Atlantic City. Goalie Jamie Hodson is 16-6-1 this season with a 2.54 goals against average and a .928 save percentage.
