Atlanta Gladiators News Release
Just Shy of a Career High: Gladiators forward Kris Goodjohn posted two goals in Saturday's 3-2 shootout loss against the Florida Everblades. Goodjohn has now scored 14 goals on the season and is 5 goals shy of tying his career high for goals in a season. Goodjohn posted 19 goals last year during his rookie campaign. Goodjohn is currently on pace to score 23 goals this season.
In striking Distance: Jeff Campbell posted his 23rd assist of the season in the Gladiators 5-4 loss at Charlotte on Friday night. Campbell now has 20 goals and 23 assists for 43 points on the season good for 2nd in scoring in the ECHL among all rookies. Campbell sits two points behind Florida's Matt Hendricks for the top spot in rookie scoring.
A defensive Sniper: The Gladiators acquired defenseman Randy Dagenais from the Louisiana IceGators last Monday in exchange for defenseman Dave McCulloch. Dagenais returns to Gwinnett where he began his professional career last season. The Valrita, Ontario native ranks 4th in the ECHL in defensive scoring posting 9 goals and 23 assists for 32 points on the season. Dagenais added an assist in the Gladiators 3-2 shootout loss against Florida on Saturday night.
The fruit from an Oke Tree! Andrew Oke posted his first goal since joining the Gladiators in Friday's 5-4 loss at Charlotte. For the defenseman, it was his third goal of the season giving him 7 points on the year after being traded to the Gladiators on February 2nd from the Toledo Storm.
Stats picking up the Stats: Mike Stathopoulos had a career high night on Friday posting a goal and two assists for 3 points in the Gladiators 5-4 loss at Charlotte. For Sthathopoulos, it was his 3rd multiple point game of the season with the Gladiators having posted 2 assists in Gwinnett's season opener in Augusta and recording a goal and an assist in the Gladiators 7-3 win at Pensacola on December 4th.
What Can Brown Do For You? Gladiators captain Cam Brown posted his first points since coming off injured reserve over a week ago. Brown, who went down with an injury on January 17th, posted his 12th goal of the season and recorded an assist for the Gladiators in Friday's 5-4 loss at Charlotte.

Charlotte's Dusty Jamieson posted a hat trick, his last goal was the game winner, to help knock off the Gladiators. Mike Stathopoulos had a career high night posting a goal and 2 assists for Gwinnett in the loss. Cam Brown recorded his first points, a goal and an assist, since returning from the 7-day IR. Andrew Oke recorded his third goal of the season in the loss, his first with the Gladiators while Lane Manson posted his 3rd goal of the season to tie the game at four in the third period before Jamieson posted his third goal of the game.
February 12th, Florida 3, Gladiators 2 - SOL
Kris Goodjohn scored twice for the Gladiators in the first four minutes of the game but the Gladiators could not hold in the shootout loss. Jim Jackson and Mike Vigilante posted assists on Goodjohn's first goal while Chris Durno and Randy Dagenais posted assists on his second goal. Gwinnett allowed the Everblades tying goal with 33 seconds left in the third period while Florida needed six rounds in the shootout to knock off the Gladiators.

It's the last meeting of the season between the Gladiators and the Everblades. Three of the five games so far this year have needed extra time to decide. Gwinnett is 1-2-2 this year against the Everblades.

With a win on Friday, Charlotte now leads the season series 2-1-0 and has won the only meeting, 5-4 last Friday, at the Cricket Arena in Charlotte. The Gladiators travel to Charlotte one more time, on March 19th after this meeting on Wednesday.

Jeff Campbell posted a hat trick in a 6-4 win two weeks ago in the last meeting between the Gladiators and the Stingrays. Campbell and Brett Engelhardt are the only two Gladiators to record hat-tricks this season, both came against the Stingrays.

Home ice has been crucial in this series with the teams splitting four games and each wining on home ice. The last two meetings have been in Greenville with the Grrrowl winning on December 30th and December 18th. The Gladiators won at the Arena at Gwinnett Center on October 31st and on December 3rd.

It's a Kroger Family Day at the Arena at Gwinnett Center as fans can score a family four pack that includes 4 Premium Level Tickets, 2 Gladiators Caps, 2 Game Programs and 1 Kroger Family Meal (good for an 8 piece Chicken Dinner and a 2 liter Big K Soft Drink). The Kroger Family Deal is only available at the Arena at Gwinnett Center box office. The game is the third of five meetings with the Checkers at the Arena at Gwinnett Center this year.
