Kroll Recalled to Hershey; Busniuk Signed

North Charleston, SC - The South Carolina Stingrays and Head Coach/General Manager Jared Bednar announced today defenseman Johann Kroll has been recalled to the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League. In other news, the team has signed Bryson Busniuk.

Kroll, 23, is currently in his rookie season after spending the last four years at Ohio State University where he tallied 27 points (5g, 22a) and picked up 177 penalty minutes in 153 career games. The Plymouth, MN native has 12 points (1g, 11a) in 18 games with the Rays this season, which ranks him eighth in the ECHL among defenseman. This marks Kroll's first call-up this year.

Busniuk, 29, returns to the Stingrays after spending part of the 2006-07 season with the Rays before being traded to the Columbia Inferno. Last year, the Thunder Bay, ON native tallied 28 points (8g, 20a) and 40 penalty minutes in 65 games with the Gwinnett Gladiators. The 6-foot-2, 190-pound center has played five games with the Dayton Bombers this season, scoring three points (1g, 2a).
