Florida Everblades News Release
ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades president and general manager Craig Brush along with head coach Malcolm Cameron announced today three separate player moves affecting the roster for tonight's game at Trenton. The Everblades today traded forward David Nimmo to the Reading Royals for future considerations and also signed forward Matt Auffrey to a contract. In addition forward Jacob Micflikier was recalled to the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League.
Auffrey comes to the Everblades after beginning the season with the Augusta Lynx who earlier this week ceased operations. The 22-year-old had 11 points (4g, 7a) and 42 penalty minutes in 18 games with the Lynx. The Cincinnati, Ohio native spent all of the 2007-08 season with Augusta as well, where he skated in all 72 games registering 50 points (25g, 25a) and 92 PIM.
Prior to last season the former 6th round draft pick by the Anaheim Ducks in 2004 split the 2006-07 campaign between three junior teams in the Ontario Hockey League. Auffrey combined for 57 points in 65 totals games with Kitchener, Brampton and Kingston.
Micflikier becomes the most recent call-up for the Everblades joining David Leggio and Ross Carlson who as players currently on call-up to the AHL during this nine-game road trip. The 24-year-old is second on the Everblades in scoring and heads to Rochester with 21 points (9g, 12a) in eight games with Florida this season. Micflikier, who had nine points in four games last week, was named the ECHL Player of the Week for the week of Nov. 24-30.
Nimmo heads to Reading after signing with the Blades earlier in this road trip. The 26-year-old played in just one game with the Everblades prior to being dealt to the Royals. In his one game he had no points in Florida's 7-6 loss at Trenton on November 29. Prior to joining the Everblades Nimmo began the 2008-09 season playing overseas in Scotland with Edinburgh.
