Knights Fall to Bulls 4-2 on Thursday

(DURHAM, NC) - The Charlotte Knights dropped game three of a six-game series against the Durham Bulls by a score of 4-2 on Thursday night from Durham Bulls Athletic Park in Durham, NC. The loss was Charlotte's first in the series after winning the first two games.
After scoring 11 runs combined in the first inning of the first two games in the series, the Knights went scoreless in Thursday's opening frame. In the top of the second inning, the Knights scored first thanks to an RBI double by Nate Mondou and a sacrifice-fly RBI from Laz Rivera. Unfortunately, the two-run second inning was Charlotte's only scoring in the game.
The Bulls cut the lead in half in the bottom of the second inning with help from an RBI single from Nick Dini. Two innings later, Jonathan Aranda doubled home two runs to give the Bulls a 3-2 lead. Durham tacked on one more run along the way to go on for the win. Durham's Ruben Cardenas scored his team's fourth and final run of the game on a wild pitch from RHP Declan Cronin in the bottom of the fifth inning.
LHP John Parke (1-3, 7.43) was saddled with loss after he started and allowed three runs on five hits over 3.2 innings pitched. RHP Edgar Navarro was impressive in relief, fanning four batters over two shutout innings. Navarrao struck-out the side in the bottom of the seventh inning.
The Knights will continue the six-game road series against the Durham Bulls (Triple-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays) from Durham Bulls Athletic Park on Friday night.
