
Knights Fall to Bulls 11-3 on Saturday

(UPTOWN CHARLOTTE, NC) -- Second baseman Nate Mondou continued his hot hitting, but the Charlotte Knights dropped game five of the six-game series against the Durham Bulls by a score of 11-3 on Saturday night from Truist Field in Uptown Charlotte. The Bulls have won four of the five games in the series.
Mondou, who homered in Wednesday's game, launched his 11th home run of the season on Saturday night. The two-run blast by Mondou came in the bottom of the fifth inning of Saturday's game. He finished the night 2-for-4 with the home run and two RBI. Charlotte catcher Carlos Pérez also had a solid day at the plate. He had two hits and drove home Charlotte's first run of the game in the bottom of the first inning on an RBI single.
Charlotte RHP Chase Solesky (1-9, 6.81) started the game for the Knights and was charged with the loss after he allowed nine runs (eight earned) on seven hits over 5.1 innings pitched. Center fielder Tyler Neslony also had a two-hit game for Charlotte.
Offensively for the Bulls, right fielder Kameron Misner homered three times on the night to pace the Durham offense. Misner went 4-for-5 with three home runs and six RBI on the night. In all, the Bulls swatted 12 hits and scored 11 runs for the win. Durham LHP Jacob Lopez (4-4, 2.86) earned the win for the Bulls. He allowed three runs on seven hits over 5.1 innings pitched.
The two teams will conclude the six-game series on Sunday evening from Truist Field in Uptown Charlotte. First pitch is set for 5:05 p.m. from the home of the Charlotte Knights.
