Columbus, OH - The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders were walked off by the Columbus Clippers 5-3 on Saturday night. Mitch Spence spun a gem and Estevan Florial homered in the loss.
On the first pitch of the ball game Estevan Florial smoked a home run to right center for a 1-0 lead.
The Clippers tied it up in the bottom of the third. Bryan Lavastida sent a homer to the same spot for a one apiece game.
Columbus took the lead in the next frame. Jhonkensy Noel swatted a 406-foot solo shot to left center.
Scranton/Wilkes-Barre got back on top in the sixth. Jamie Westbrook and Andres Chaparro singled to reach and Jake Lamb drew a walk to load the bases. Rodolfo Duran was then hit by a pitch to bring in the tying run. A ground out from Michael Hermosillo brought in Chappy for a 3-2 advantage.
In the bottom of the ninth inning, Zach Greene (L, 2-1) walked two to begin the frame. Noel launched his second homer of the contest to right field to walk off the game 5-3 Columbus.
Mitch Spence tossed a impressive start allowing just two runs in seven innings of work. He didn't issue a walk, while striking out nine.
Daniel Norris got the start letting up a run in four innings. Cody Morris gave up two runs with the bases loaded in the sixth. Nic Enright (W, 5-2) sent down the side in the top of the ninth and was awarded the win.
The RailRiders and Clippers wrap up their series Sunday at Huntington Park. Southpaw Edgar Barclay is slated to get the start in a 1:05 PM contest.
