(UPTOWN CHARLOTTE, NC) - A three-run fifth inning propelled the Charlotte Knights to a 4-1 win over the Memphis Redbirds on Saturday night in game two of the day/night doubleheader from Truist Field in Uptown Charlotte. With the win in Saturday's nightcap, the Knights now lead the series three games to two.

With the game tied at 1-1 in the bottom of the fifth inning, the Knights battled against Memphis starter Connor Thomas (4-4, 5.52). Right fielder Víctor Reyes broke the 1-1 tie with a two-run single in the bottom of the fifth inning. One batter later, catcher Carlos Pérez singled home Charlotte's third run of the inning to make it a 4-1 lead.

Charlotte first baseman Xavier Fernández continued his red-hot hitting and extended his hit streak to a season-high 11 consecutive games.

RHP Chase Solesky started the game two matchup and was solid in 4.2 innings pitched. Solesky gave up one run on four hits and did not factor in the decision. RHP Declan Cronin (3-0, 3.75) came on in relief of Solesky and earned the win. Cronin gave up just one hit over 1.1 shutout innings. RHP Jordan Leasure earned the save, his first of the season.

Earlier in the day, the Knights lost to the Redbirds by a score of 13-7.

The Knights will conclude the six-game homestand on Sunday afternoon against the Memphis Redbirds (Triple-A affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals). The "Voice of the Knights" Matt Swierad and long-time Knights broadcaster Mike Pacheco will have the call for all of the action. First pitch on Sunday is set for 12:05 p.m. from Truist Field.
