Moosic, Pennsylvania - Despite hitting six homers across the two games, the Lehigh Valley IronPigs (65-58, 29-21) were swept in their doubleheader by the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (62-61, 28-21) by final scores of 7-4 and 6-3 on Saturday evening at PNC Field.

Game One

Darick Hall got the game going on the right foot for the IronPigs as he smacked a solo homer in the first inning to get the scoring started.

The RailRiders responded with force in the bottom half. With two outs and the bases loaded, Jamie Westbrook drilled a grand slam before Jake Lamb and Michael Hermosillo each homered as part of back-to-back-to-back homers to make it 6-1. The RailRiders added one more run in the inning on a Jasson Dominguez RBI single.

Hall went deep again in the fourth, another solo shot and his 13th of the season. Kody Clemens socked a solo homer of his own in the sixth, his 11th of the year, to cut the deficit further and even added an RBI single in the seventh, but the seven-run first was too much to overcome and the IronPigs fell 7-4.

Will Warren (6-4) collected the win for the RailRiders, firing six innings and allowing three runs on five hits and a walk, striking out seven.

Shaun Anderson (2-2) took the loss for the IronPigs, allowing seven runs on eight hits and a walk in two-thirds of an inning.

Game Two

Another big early frame was the downfall of the IronPigs again in game two. This time, Scranton did the bulk of their damage in the second. With two outs and the bases loaded, Estevan Florial worked a walk to force home a run before Dominguez laced a bases clearing double. Dominguez then scored on a Andres Chaparro RBI single to make it 5-0.

Dustin Peterson smoked a solo homer in the fourth, his 18th of the year, to get the IronPigs on the board but the RailRiders got that run right back in the last of the fourth on a sacrifice fly from Carlos Narvaez.

Drew Ellis clobbered a solo homer in the fifth, his 11th of the year, and Cal Stevenson came off the bench to drill a solo shot, his sixth of the year, in the seventh, but that was all the offense the IronPigs got the rest of the way in the 6-3 loss.

Anthony Misiewicz (3-1) picked up the win out of the bullpen for the RailRiders, going 1.1 innings, allowing a run on two hits, striking out one.

Griff McGarry (0-2) swallowed the loss for the IronPigs, allowing five runs in 1.2 frames on just one hit and five walks, striking out three.

The IronPigs conclude their series against the RailRiders on Sunday, August 27 with first pitch slated for 1:05 p.m.
