LOS ANGELES, CA - The Los Angeles Kings, the parent club of the Manchester Monarchs, have recalled forward Kevin Westgarth from the Monarchs, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today.

Westgarth, 25, made his Kings/NHL debut with the Kings earlier this season, recording zero points and zero penalty minutes in two games. The 6-foot-5, 241-pound native of Amherstburg, Ontario, was originally signed by the Kings as a free agent on March 16, 2007, after playing his college hockey at Princeton.

Westgarth began the 2008-09 season with the Monarchs. In 55 games with Manchester, he has eight points (2-6=8) and a team-leading 146 penalty minutes.

The Monarchs host the Hartford Wolf Pack on Friday, March 6 at the Verizon Wireless Arena. The puck drops at 7:30 p.m. The first 2,000 fans at Friday's game will receive a Monarchs zamboni bank, courtesy of St. Mary's Bank.
