Bridgeport Islanders News Release

Bridgeport, Conn. - On Sunday when the Sound Tigers take on their intrastate rivals, the Hartford Wolf Pack at 4 p.m., the players will wear special Autism Awareness jerseys. These uniforms have already been placed on eBay, an online auction web site, for fans to bid on their favorite players with a portion of the proceeds going towards autism research and funding in Connecticut. By signing onto www.eBay.com fans can begin bidding.

The special Autism Awareness jersey features a combination of the classic Sound Tigers' blue and orange colors with the autism puzzle pieces. The orange Sound Tiger crest, sewn in the center of the predominately white jersey, remains untouched. Draped under the arm and down the side of the sweater are the green, yellow, blue, orange, and red colors that make up the Autism logo. The Autism Awareness ribbon is sewn onto the right shoulder. On the left shoulder, is the patch of the team's NHL affiliate, the New York Islanders.

The winning bidders can have their jerseys signed and personalized with each players' last name and number on the back. The bidding for each jersey ends Monday.

Shipping costs are listed on the bid's site. If you prefer to pick the jersey up at the Sound Tigers office, please specify upon winning the auction.

For more information or how to purchase tickets to Sunday's Autism Awareness game, contact the Sound Tigers' front office at (203) 334-GOAL or e-mail info@soundtigers.com.
