NORFOLK, Va. - Blair Jones scored a pair of goals for Norfolk as the Lowell Devils were defeated by the Admirals, 4-1, on Friday at the Norfolk Scope. The Devils were unable to capitalize on eight power play opportunities on the night, while Admirals goalie Riku Helenius made 31 saves.

Tied, 1-1, after one, Lowell would receive four man-advantages in the second and fire 20 shots at Helenius, but it was Norfolk who tallied the only goal of the period. The Admirals went up, 2-1, after Jeff Frazee was unable to handle Brent Henley's point shot and Justin Keller swept in the rebound at 7:27.

Jones then made it a two-goal lead for Norfolk at 15:56 with his second of the game, pulling free from a scrum in the crease to lift a loose puck to the top of the net.

Mike Lundin upped the score to 4-1 just 2:15 into the third period with a slapshot from the hashmarks that found its way through a screen in front.

Norfolk took a 1-0 lead at 7:16 of the first when Jones snuck an off-hand wrister from the left circle past the glove of Frazee.

The Devils came back to tie it with 2:18 until the intermission on Alexander Vasyunov's 12th of the season. Tyler Eckford fed a pass to Norfolk blueline that allowed Vasyunov to split the defense and find some daylight under the pads of Helenius with a backhand shot.

The Lowell Devils take the ice for a rematch against the Norfolk Admirals on Saturday, March 7 at 7:15 p.m. Listen to the game live on ahllive.com. For more information about individual tickets and group packages, call (978) 458-PUCK (7825) or log on to www.lowelldevilshockey.com.
