Bridgeport, Conn. - The Sound Tigers closed out their regular season match-ups against the Binghamton Senators tonight, beating the Senators for the third time this year by the score of 6-5. Chris Lee and Tyler Haskins both scored a goal and two assists and were named the number one and two stars of the game. Through the first two periods, both teams traded goals and entered the third period tied at 4-4. Jon Sim and Junior Lessard tallied their first goals with the team this season to earn the victory for the Sound Tigers. Jeremy Colliton and Trevor Smith also scored for the Sound Tigers. Five different Senators registered goals for Binghamton in the game. With the win, the Sound Tigers improve to 37-18-3-5 and have 82 points, placing them in sole possession of second place in the East Division.

Denis Hamel opened the game's scoring in the first period just a minute into the contest when he scored his 22nd goal of the season on assists from Brian Lee and Greg Mauldin. Haskins would answer for the Sound Tigers about two minutes later when he was sprung for a breakaway on a pass from Lee. Haskins faked as if he was going to shoot and then pulled the puck to his backhand and lifted it over Binghamton starting goalie Jeff Glass for his seventh goal of the season to tie the score at one. Colliton would give the Sound Tigers their first lead when he also came in alone on a breakaway and backhanded a shot past Glass for his sixth tally of the season. Mike Iggulden had the only assist on the play to give the Sound Tigers the 2-1 lead. Marc Cavosie would answer for the Senators and bang a loose puck in front past Sound Tigers' net-minder, Peter Mannino to knot the score at two. Former Sound Tiger Drew Fata and Neil Petruic had the helpers on Cavosie's eighth goal of the season.

As the second period began, the Sound Tigers wasted little time in jumping back out in front when Lee wristed a shot from the point that snuck through Glass for his fourth goal of the season. Haskins had the lone assist on Lee's marker to give the Sound Tigers the short-lived 3-2 lead. Less than a minute later, Mauldin evened the score at three with his 14th goal of the season, coming unassisted while Binghamton was on the power-play. The Senators would go up 4-3 with eight minutes remaining in the second period when Petruic's slap-shot from the left wing boards snuck through Mannino for his first goal of the season. Ilya Zubov and Zack Smith had the assists on the play. Before the period would end however, Smith would knot the score at 4-4 at the 16:53 mark of the middle frame. Ben Walter fed a pass to Kurtis McLean behind the net where he zipped a pass in front to Smith who snapped the puck inside the near post for his team-leading 26th goal of the season.

With the Sound Tigers on the man-advantage in the third period, Sim would put his new team up 5-4 when he banged in a loose puck off the left post. Lee and McLean were playing catch at the point before McLean blasted a shot that Glass turned aside but the rebound bounced to Sim for his first goal of the season at the 7:42 mark of the final frame. Lessard would add an empty-net marker to assuming seal the victory but Binghamton would tally once more with less than a minute remaining on a goal from Mattias Karlsson to cut the Sound Tigers' lead to 6-5. The Senators would scramble in the waning seconds of the game to the equalizer but Mannino and the Sound Tigers would hold them off and earn the 6-5 win.

Mannino completed the game, stopping 24 of the 29 shots he saw while his counterpart between the pipes, Glass, made 23 saves on 28 shots. The Sound Tigers were 1-for-3 on the power-play and 2-for-4 on the penalty-kill.
