Ewing, Morrison Returned To Wheeling

WILKES-BARRE, PA - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins have reassigned forwards Jordan Morrison and Bryan Ewing to the Wheeling Nailers, it was announced on Friday.

Ewing, 23, leads the Nailers and ranks second in the ECHL with 72 points (36+36) in 53 games this season. He also places third in the ECHL in goals, tied for 11th in power play goals (10).

The Wheeling native leads all ECHL rookies in points and goals, and ranks tied for second in assists.

Ewing made his AHL debut with the Penguins on February 8, going scoreless and even. He has appeared in three games with the Penguins this season after being signed by Wilkes-Barre/Scranton as a free agent on August 29, 2008.

Morrison, 22, has appeared in seven games with the Penguins this season, recording one assist and eight penalty minutes. He made his Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and AHL debut on January 16, picking up an assist and two penalty minutes against the Binghamton Senators.

The 6-0, 170 pound native of Uxbridge, ON ranks second on the Nailers this season with 62 points (19+43) in 49 games. He ranks sixth in the ECHL in points, and third in assists.

Morrison was signed by Wilkes-Barre/Scranton as a free agent on October 1, 2008.
