Kessel, Manderson, McMillan Assigned to Orlando

Orlando, FL - The Orlando Solar Bears, proud affiliate of the NHL's Toronto Maple Leafs and AHL's Toronto Marlies, announced today that defenseman Blake Kessel and forwards Denver Manderson and Carson McMillan have been assigned to the Solar Bears from the Marlies, and defenseman Matt Finn and forward Patrick Watling have been recalled to the Marlies.

Kessel has appeared in 25 games with the Solar Bears this season, scoring three goals and adding nine assists for 12 points. He played in two games with Toronto since being recalled on December 27, notching one assist. In his ECHL career, the Madison, WI, native has appeared in 124 games with Orlando, Bakersfield, and Trenton, collecting 88 points on 19 goals and 69 assists.

Manderson returns to the Solar Bears after recording a 12 game point streak from

November 11 through December 4, posting seven goals and 13 assists for 20 points over that span. He is fourth on the Orlando Solar Bears in scoring this season with 26 points, and his nine goals places him second on the club. He has skated in five games for the Marlies this season, picking up one assist. In 103 ECHL games with Orlando and Wheeling, Manderson has 38 goals and 57 assists for 95 points.

McMillan has played six games for the Solar Bears this season (his first in the ECHL), scoring two goals to go along with four assists for six points. Since being recalled to the Marlies in mid-November, he has posted one assist in 13 games. McMillan has 16 games of NHL experience with the Minnesota Wild, tallying two goals and three assists for five points. He has played in 330 games with Iowa and Houston during his AHL career, notching 89 points on 41 goals and 48 assists.
