
Eagles Shut Out by Steelheads 6-0

LOVELAND, Colo. -The Colorado Eagles (18-12-0-0) were shutout for the first time this season, 6-0, against the Idaho Steelheads (19-10-1-2) on Friday evening at the Budweiser Events Center.
Just 4:49 into the first frame Steelheads forward Alex Belzile netted a goal from the hashes to gain the early 1-0 advantage. Over four minutes later, Idaho forward Brett Robinson beat Eagles netminder Clarke Saunders blocker-side to gain the 2-0 lead over the Eagles. With just over 6 minutes left in the first, Robinson capitalized on a power play as he tipped a shot from Belzile into the net to pump the Steelheads lead, 3-0. Less than two minutes later Idaho defenseman Troy Vance gave the Steelheads the 4-0 lead over the Eagles forcing Colorado to pull Saunders and put Doug Carr in net.
At the 7:30 mark of the second period, Steelheads forward James Livingston caught a puck that Carr played from behind the net and beat him to gain the 5-0 advantage for Idaho.
With 8:30 left in the third stanza Belzile made it a 6-0 game as he deflected a shot from the point past Carr. Roy was the standout player of the game shutting down all of Colorado's 29 shots to hold on for the 6-0 shutout.
