Atlanta Gladiators News Release

DULUTH, Ga. - The Gladiators announced that goaltender Louis Domingue (pronounced loo-EE doe-MING) was assigned to the team by their NHL affiliate, the Arizona Coyotes, from the Portland Pirates on Friday. In seven starts for AHL Portland this season, Domingue has gone 5-2 with a 2.29 goals-against average and a .922 save percentage.

Domingue, 22, has made 41 appearances for the Gladiators over the last two seasons. In his rookie season, Domingue carried the load for Gwinnett, making 34 appearances and posting a 23-9-2 record with a 2.69 GAA, a .904 SV%, and three shutouts. His strong rookie season earned him two appearances with Portland that year.

Last year, the Mont. St. Hilaire, Quebec native began the season with the Gladiators before an early season assignment to Portland. Domingue then made a brief stop back in Duluth for four games and played lights out. In those four appearances, Louis only allowed six goals on the 151 shots he faced (.959 SV%, 1.43 GAA) and he was a perfect 40-for-40 in net in a 3-0 shutout against Evansville on 11/28/13.

Domingue has played the majority of the last two seasons with Portland in the AHL - 43 appearances and almost 2,200 minutes in net with a .906 SV% and a 2.96 GAA.

To accommodate the assignment, goaltender Andrew Loewen was released from his ECHL contract and returned to the Columbus Cottonmouths of the SPHL, and goaltender Mark Guggenberger was suspended from the team.

Domingue will be with the Gladiators in time for their next game, tonight at The Arena at Gwinnett Center. The team will take on the Elmira Jackals at 7:35 p.m.
