Moline, IL - The Missouri Mavericks (14-13-1-2, 31 points) continue to earn points with a 4-2 win over the Quad City Mallards (16-11-3-2) on Friday night in Moline, Illinois. Missouri has earned points in five of their last six games posting a 2-1-1-2 record and on the season have dominated the Mallards with a 4-0-0-1 record against the Flock.

The win is a big one for the Mavericks as Quad City entered the game red-hot and alone in second place in the Central Division with wins in eight of their last 10 games. The "Achilles heel" for the Flock have been the Mavs as they are 16-7-3-1 against the rest of the ECHL.

The back-and-forth game leaned towards the Mavs in the early and late stages. Missouri started the scoring with former Quad City forward Jared Brown scoring his fifth goal of the season at the 6:56 mark of the opening period, John-Scott Dickson had the lone assist.

Shortly after gaining the 1-0 lead, Missouri went on the power play and Josh Brittain found the back of the net for his 10th goal of the season and first of two strikes in the game. Jack Downing and Dickson had the assists on the goal helping Missouri finish 1 for 3 on the power play.

Quad City showed why they are near the top in the division as they rallied for a late first period goal from Antti Pusa, his fourth goal of the season, and then a third period goal from Mario Lamoureux, his 11th goal of the season.

As the game wound down with the score tied at two, the Mavs responded. Brittain found the net for his second goal of the game at the 18:05 mark of the game and then Chris Crane scored an empty-net goal, his 10th goal of the season, at the 18:52 mark.

Mike Clemente made 25 saves in the game winning for the first time in exactly a month (last win was December 2nd also versus Quad City). Clemente is now 6-8-0-1 on the season.

Parker Milner takes the loss with 27 saves in the game, falls to 8-5-1-1 on the season.
