The Gwinnett Gladiators announced today that they have acquired left wing Brandon Kaleniecki in a trade with the Las Vegas Wranglers for financial consideration.
Kaleniecki returns to Gwinnett after playing with the Gladiators during his rookie campaign during the 2006-07 season. He appeared in only 19 games after spending much of the season on the 30-day IR after sustaining an injury in December of that season.
He notched 5 goals and 6 assists for 11 points with Gwinnett during the 2006-07 season. He appeared in four Kelly Cup Playoff games and collected a goal and an assist for Gwinnett in the post season.
The Livonia, Michigan native was traded to Las Vegas prior to the 2007-08 season. In 60 games with Las Vegas last year, Kaleniecki notched 16 goals and 14 assists for 30 points
He helped the Wranglers to the Kelly Cup Finals last season but only appeared in five Kelly Cup Playoffs games recording 2 goals and an assist for 3 points with Las Vegas.
Prior to turning pro, Kaleniecki played four seasons at the University of Michigan where he appeared in 159 career collegiate games. He posted 64 goals and 36 assists for 100 points during his four year collegiate career.
The Gladiators continue the 2008-09 season on Tuesday, October 28th at the Arena at Gwinnett Center as they host the Charlotte Checkers at 7:05 p.m.
