Steelheads Fall In Phoenix, 2-1

Boise, ID- The Steelheads (1-1-1) fell on the road against the Phoenix RoadRunners (3-2-0) by a score of 2-1 at the US Airways Center in Phoenix, AZ in front of a crowd of 3,103.

The first period was similar to the first period in Wednesday night's contest between these two clubs; it resulted in a 1-0 RoadRunners lead. The scoring was opened by Kimbi Daniels, who netted his 3rd of the season, at the 3:27 mark. Assists went to Brett Thurston and T.J. Campbell. The RoadRunners held the Steelheads to four shots on goal in period number one.

The second period did not change the score, but the third period saw the Steelheads tie the game at 5:37 of the final frame. Ben Nelson, with an assist going to Garett Bembridge, scored a shorthanded goal. However, Peder Skinner roofed a wrister on Steelheads goaltender Rejean Beauchemin at 12:06 of the third period on the power play. The goal proved to be the eventual game-winner.

The lone fight of the contest was between Idaho's Craig Cescon and the RoadRunners' Brett Thurston in the third period. Craig Kowalski stopped 27 shots for Phoenix, while Beauchemin turned aside 26 for Idaho.
