Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp News Release
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Tuesday's scheduled contest between the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp and the Norfolk Tides has been suspended due to inclement weather with the Tides ahead 2-1 in the top of the fourth inning. Tonight's game will resume Wednesday at 5:35 p.m. and will be played through nine innings. Game two will start approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of game one and will be a seven-inning contest. Gates open at 5 p.m.
Fans holding a ticket to Tuesday's game can exchange that ticket for a ticket of equal or lesser value, subject to availability, to any remaining 2022 game at the Miller Electric Box Office.
With two outs in the top of the third, Norfolk drew first blood. Gunnar Henderson was hit by a pitch and Jordan Westburg blasted a two-run home run to give the Tides a 2-0 lead.
Jacksonville responded in the bottom of the third inning. Bryson Brigman singled with one out and went to third on a double from Brian Miller. Jordan Groshans smacked a sac fly that scored Brigman to cut the deficit to 2-1.
The teams came out for the top of the fourth but after a double and walk, the game went into a delay before being suspended. When play resumes on Wednesday, the Tides will start with runners on first and second with no outs in the top of the fourth.
Gates will open at 5 p.m. on a Good is Everywhere Wednesday presented by VyStar Credit Union and Dreams Come True. Join the Jumbo Shrimp and Dreams Come True as they raise awareness and funds throughout the game through ticket sales and promotions. It's also Bring Your Own Instrument Night at the ballpark.
