Elmira Jackals News Release
ELMIRA, NY - The Elmira Jackals, proud member of the ECHL, announced today that defenseman Tomas Kudelka has been reassigned by the Ottawa Senators (NHL) to their American Hockey League affiliate in Binghamton. Kudelka will join the Senators in Philadelphia for their 7:05 p.m. contest against the Phantoms at the Wachovia Spectrum.
A fifth round pick (136th overall) in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft by the Ottawa Senators, Kudelka has picked up five goals (three game-winners) and 13 assists for 18 points with 24 penalty minutes and a +2 rating in 22 games with the Jackals. With Ottawa's AHL affiliate in Binghamton, the rookie blue liner has a goal and six penalty minutes in 18 contests.
Kudelka had been sidelined for the last seven games due to league suspension and was slated to return to Elmira's line-up for tonight game against Dayton.
Additionally, the Jackals announced that they have signed left wing Tanner Fogarty to an ECHL contract. In six games with Wheeling (ECHL) earlier this month, Fogarty was scoreless with two penalty minutes and a -3 rating. As a four-year letter winner with Holy Cross (Atlantic Hockey - NCAA), Fogarty posted eight goals and 21 points in 111 collegiate games.
Fogarty practiced with the club at today's morning skate and is expected to be in the line-up tonight as the Jackals kick off a three-game in three-night stretch at First Arena.
