Phoenix RoadRunners News Release
PHOENIX, Ariz. - The Phoenix RoadRunners of the ECHL, a proud affiliate of the San Jose Sharks and the Worcester Sharks, have announced that rookie goaltender Taylor Dakers has been re-assigned to the club by San Jose from Worcester of the American Hockey League. Dakers is expected to be in the RoadRunners' line-up tonight when they host Alaska at 7:11 p.m.
"This move will provide consistent playing time for Taylor in Phoenix, as well as for Thomas Greiss and Dimitri Patzold in Worcester, "said San Jose Sharks Vice President and Assistant General Manager Wayne Thomas.
Dakers, 21, posted a 4-10-1 record with a 3.24 goals against average and a .886% save percentage in 18 games with Worcester. The Langley, British Columbia native went 82-42-7 in four seasons with the Kootenay Ice of the Western Hockey League with a 2.25 goals against average, a .916% save percentage, and 18 shutouts in 137 games. He was named a 2006-07 WHL Eastern Conference Second-Team All-Star after collecting a career-best 33 wins last season.
Dakers was selected by San Jose in the fifth round (140th overall) at the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
The RoadRunners will celebrate their past at 7:11 p.m. Friday at US Airways Center when they host "Turn Back the Clock Night" against the Alaska Aces. Scheduled to appear during a special second intermission ceremony are forwards Jeff Shevalier (1994-97), Mike Vukonich (1991-94), Shawn McCosh (1991-93), Ed Kastelic (1992-93), Brad McCaughey (1992-93), Bob Charlebois (1967-71), and Barry Potomski (1994-97), and defensemen Rob Cowie (1994-96), Darren Veitch (1995-96), Bobby Jay (1993-94), and Jim Niekamp (1974-78).

In addition to the festivities, the band "Stream" will perform live throughout the game.
