ELMIRA, New York - The Elmira Jackals (25-17-0-5) notched four unanswered goals to rally and defeat the Cincinnati Cyclones (20-19-0-4) by a 4-1 final score in front of 3,066 at First Arena on Friday night.

The Cyclones drew first blood just 3:12 into the contest when David Pacan redirected Michael Quinn's point shot past Travis Fullerton (W, 30 saves, 15-5-0-4) to make it 1-0. For the rest of the frame, Cincinnati continued to buckle down defensively and hold the Jackals to just five shots through 20 minutes of play.

The Jackals used a bit of puck luck in the middle stanza to pull out in front; at 1:51, Taylor Stefishen was set up for an odd-man rush when a Josh McFadden pass careened off of the linesman and right to the Jackals forward. Stefishen cut in and fired a shot from the left circle past Rob Madore (L, 16 saves, 8-9-0-3) to knot things at one. Then, at the 10:37 mark, Justin Kea backhanded home his fifth goal of the season as he was falling down between the Cincinnati circles. And despite outshooting the Jackals 21-10 through the first two periods, the Cyclones trailed by one heading into the second intermission.

The Jackals extended their edge to 3-1 at the 15:28 mark of the final period when Riley Wetmore sent a point shot past a screened Madore. Then, just 33 seconds later, Mike Seidel made it 4-1 as he intercepted an outlet pass against the right wing wall and sniped in an offering past Madore, who was late arriving to the net after playing it behind the goal. As the game neared its conclusion, Thomas Nesbitt delivered an illegal high hit on Christiaan Minella, sparking a major penalty and a physical finish to the tilt. While a post-hit fight didn't break out immediately, the ensuing face-off would see everybody on the ice get into the mix in some capacity. In total, 137 penalty minutes were handed out by night's end as the Jackals went on to win it 4-1.

The Cyclones will round out their quick weekend on the road tomorrow night when they visit the Wheeling Nailers for the first time at 8:05pm. Fans can hear the action of the game on the Cyclones Radio Network beginning at 7:45pm and watch live at Game Time Sports Bar & Grill in Cheviot!
