
Americans Tame the Beast

Allen Americans News Release
Brampton, Ontario - The Allen Americans scored three times in the third period on their way to a 5-2 win over the Brampton Beast at the Powerade Center in Southern Ontario.
Gary Steffes scored two times for Allen, including an empty net goal late in the third. Greger Hanson added a shorthanded goal in the first period, his 13th of the season. Other goal scorers for Allen, Jesse Messier (2) and Aaron Gens (6).
The Americans finished 1-2 on the power play, while Brampton was 0-5. Riley Gill made the start in net for Allen, stopping 25 of 27 shots. Grant Rollheiser on in relief of Trevor Cann, stopped 25 of 27 shots. Cann was pulled after giving up two goals in the first period.
Rylan Schwartz had a two point night for the Americans assisting on Hanson's shorthanded goal and Steffes power play goal in the third period.
The teams finish up the 2-game set tomorrow night at the Powerade Center with a 6 pm cst puck drop. Your Americans next home is Saturday, February 14 and will be our inaugural Pucks N Paws game.
