Game Preview
The Kalamazoo Wings will begin a home-and-home series versus the Fort Wayne Komets. Tonight is the 10th of 15 regular season encounters between the teams. On the season, the K-Wings are 3-5-1-0 against the Komets.
Kalamazoo earned a point on Wednesday during a 5-4 shootout loss to the Cincinnati Cyclones. With 42 points, the K-Wings begin the night in fourth place in the North Division, two points ahead of the Wheeling Nailers and two points behind the Cyclones for third.
The Komets roll into Wings Stadium looking for a little revenge. Despite leading the season series, Fort Wayne has dropped its last two games against Kalamazoo. With 61 points, the Komets are tied with the Toledo Walleye for first place in the North Division.

Moving Up the List
On Wednesday defenseman Sam Ftorek earned his 182nd assist in a K-Wings uniform to surpass Tim Ross (1977-80) for ninth all-time in team history. Tonight will be another milestone for the blue-liner, as Ftorek will play in his 378th career K-Wings game moving past Paul Jerrard (1988-94) into eighth all-time in K-Wings history for games played.
Feeling Special
Forward Justin Taylor's last three goals have all occurred either shorthanded (2) or on the power-play (1). In total four out of Taylor's seven goals this season have been recorded on special teams.
Get Shorty
Lately Kalamazoo's penalty kill has been really aggressive. The K-Wings have scored six shorthanded goals this season, five of which have come in the past month and three in the past four games.
Heating Up
Fort Wayne's Reid Petryk enters tonight on a three-game point streak. Petryk, who has played in 25 games this season, has earned all five of his points in the Komets last eight games.
