Elmira Jackals News Release

The Elmira Jackals announced Wednesday that left wing Brian Lebler has been assigned to the team by their AHL affiliate, the Syracuse Crunch, and that goaltender Daren Machesney has been returned to the club from his loan to the Jackals' AHL affiliate, the Binghamton Senators. Additionally, defenseman Marc-Antoine Desnoyers has departed the team to attend college in Canada.

Lebler, a native of Penticton, British Columbia, has played in four games in his rookie season with the Crunch after spending the last four seasons at the University of Michigan (NCAA, D-1). In his senior season of 2009-2010, Lebler set career bests with 14 goals, 10 assists, 24 points, and a +9 rating, with his goal total registering as third best on the team. Lebler received the team's Joseph E. Barss Award last season as the best player on the team as decided by the coaching staff as Michigan won the CCHA Tournament.

Machesney was loaned by Elmira to Binghamton on Dec. 26 and is 1-2 with the Jackals this season after being acquired from Victoria in a trade earlier this month.

Desnoyers had four assists in 12 games with the Jackals.

"Marc-Antoine has decided to pursue his education," Jackals head coach Malcolm Cameron said. "We wish him the best, and we know he will be a terrific student-athlete."

The Jackals take on the Trenton Devils tonight at 7:00 p.m. at the Sun National Bank Center.
