Derlago Named All-Star Starter

(Boise, ID) - Idaho Steelheads forward Mark Derlago has been selected as a starter for the 2011 ECHL All Star Classic presented by CCM in a vote of the league's coaches, team captains, media relations directors, broadcasters and media.

The game will be played on Wednesday, January 26, at Bakersfield's Rabobank Arena and will feature a team of ECHL all-stars taking on the host Bakersfield Condors, the team Derlago played for before moving to Idaho before last season. He was an ECHL All-Star in 2009 as a member of the Condors.

Here is the starting lineup for the ECHL squad:

G - Michael Ouzas, Las Vegas (16 gp, 11-3-1, 1 shutout, 2.24 GAA, .921 save pct.)

D - P.J. Atherton, Victoria (28 gp, 6g, 14a, 20 pts)

D - Julien Brouillette, Greenville (25 gp, 11g, 12a, 23 pts)

F - Brendan Connolly, Greenville (27 gp, 13g, 15a, 28 pts)

F - Mark Derlago, Idaho (29 gp, 15g, 16a, 31 pts)

F - Mitch Fadden, Florida (31 gp, 14g, 31a, 45 pts)

Derlago, 24, is tied for second in the ECHL in goals (15) and fifth in points (31) this season. The Brandon, Manitoba, native played his first two professional seasons with the Bakersfield Condors. He joined the Steelheads for the 2009-2010 season, where he set single-season team records in the ECHL era for goals (42) and points (92) and was named first-team All-ECHL as the Steelheads won the National Conference championship and reached the Kelly Cup finals.
