Everblades Fadden Named All-Star Starter

ESTERO, FL- The Florida Everblades proudly announced today that forward Mitch Fadden has been selected as a starter for the 2011 ECHL All-Star Classic presented by CCM to be played on January 26, 2011 in Bakersfield, California.

Fadden currently leads the ECHL in scoring with 47 points (15g, 32a) in 32 games played. In addition to leading the league in points, the 22-year-old leads the ECHL in assists (32), power play assists (17) and power play points (21).

The Victoria, British Columbia native has picked up points in three straight games (3g, 2a) and has collected point in 13 of the last 16 games (7g, 18a). Earlier this season Fadden strung together a career-high, 10-game point scoring streak from Oct. 22 - Nov. 12.

A fourth round draft pick by the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2007, Fadden is in his second professional season, having collected 19 points in 53 games with the Norfolk Admirals in 2009-10.

The starting lineup is determined in voting by ECHL coaches, team captains, media directors, broadcasters and media members.

The 2011 ECHL All-Star Classic format features the host Bakersfield Condors taking on a team of ECHL All-Stars.

There have been 52 players from the All-Star Game who have gone on to play in the National Hockey League, including 36 since 2002 when the lineups began having players who coaches felt were prospects to move up to a higher level.

The rest of the ECHL All-Star Team will be announced on Thursday, December 30.
