After collecting just two hits the previous night, the Isotopes (27-24) bounced back Sunday evening with 11 runs and 16 hits to defeat the Sacramento River Cats (24-27), 11-2, at Raley Field.

All eight of Albuquerque's position players recorded hits on the evening with Mike Tauchman leading the way with a four-hit performance. Half of the Isotopes' 16 hits went for extra bases, highlighted by home runs from Pat Valaika, Raimel Tapia and Tom Murphy. Valaika's home run was his first with the Isotopes while Tapia's was his seventh of the year. Murphy now leads the club with 13 long balls this season.

Albuquerque starting pitcher Jeff Hoffman earned his third win of the year after allowing just one run and six hits in 5.2 innings. Hoffman's seven strikeouts on Sunday gives him 227 in his three years with the Isotopes, surpassing Ryan Carpenter (222) for the third-most in team history.

Albuquerque and Sacramento continues its five-game set on Monday afternoon with the Isotopes going for their first series win at Raley Field in their 16-year history. Lefty David Holmberg is scheduled to start for Albuquerque. Right-hander Dereck Rodriguez, the son of Hall of Fame catcher Ivan Rodriguez, will take the mound for the River Cats.
