May 28, 2018 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Iowa Cubs News Release

DES MOINES, IA - Bijan Rademacher was the hero for the second-straight game as a the Iowa Cubs (20-29) walked off on the New Orleans Baby Cakes (23-28) 5-4, Monday at Principal Park. A sacrifice fly from Rademacher got the job done in the ninth as the I-Cubs won their fourth-straight game.

Iowa held a 4-2 lead heading into the ninth, but let the Baby Cakes get back in it and knot the game at 4-4. Mike Freeman gave the I-Cubs a chance with a leadoff single in the bottom of the inning and on a heads-up base running move, got to third on a sacrifice bunt from Taylor Davis. Rademacher then skied a ball just deep enough to left to bring in Freeman and give Iowa the win.

Duane Underwood Jr. retired the first nine batters he faced before getting into trouble in the fourth. Austin Dean doubled to lead off the inning and Magneuris Sierra followed with a single. Eric Campbell and Tomas Telis each batted in a run to put the Baby Cakes ahead. Underwood would put together another strong outing, tying a season-best with seven innings pitched and allowing two runs on four hits, walking none and fanning three.

The I-Cubs threatened early, but couldn't collect on the offense until the seventh when they collected four runs on three hits to bounce to their first lead of the game, which they would hold until the ninth.

Freeman, Davis and David Bote each collected two-hit games to boost Iowa's offense. In his first 2018 game with Iowa, Victor Caratini was 0-for-2 with an RBI and two walks.

Iowa and New Orleans wrap the five-game series tomorrow with a 12:08 first pitch at Principal Park. For more information or tickets, visit www.iowacubs.com.
