El Paso Chihuahuas News Release

The Fresno Grizzlies piled up 16 hits Monday and beat the El Paso Chihuahuas 11-2. The 16 hits matched the Chihuahuas season high for hits allowed.

Fresno had seven batters or more come to bat in each of the first three innings and built a 10-2 lead before the fourth. Eight of nine starting Grizzlies had at least one hit. Brett Nicholas went 2-for-4 with a double and has reached base in nine straight games. El Paso's error in the second inning was only the second in the Chihuahuas last eight games.

Eric Yardley pitched a scoreless seventh inning, his second scoreless outing in as many days after returning from Double-A San Antonio. Diego Goris threw a scoreless eighth inning in his second pitching appearance of the season. The infielder has now pitched four times professionally and hasn't allowed any runs.
