The Albuquerque Isotopes defeated the Salt Lake Bees 10-6 in front of 12,164 fans on Wednesday night at Smith's Ballpark.

The Isotopes got on the board after hitting a solo home run in the top of the first inning, but the Bees struck back in the bottom of the frame with a two-run home run by Jared Walsh to take a 2-1 lead.

After Albuquerque tied the game up 2-2 in the second frame on an RBI-single, Josh Thole put Salt Lake back up 3-2 after knocking in a run off a single in the bottom of the second. The game became knotted at 3-3 as the Isotopes plated one run in the fifth and Albuquerque broke the tie in the seventh inning by plating four runs on four hits to take a 7-3 advantage. A two-run homer by Jose Rojas in the bottom of the seventh got the Bees within two runs, but the Isotopes bats remained hot and tacked on a three runs in the eighth to go up 10-5. Salt Lake was able to score one run in the eighth and loaded the bases in the ninth, but it was not enough as the Isotopes took game two of the series.

Matt Ball got the start for Salt Lake and went three and two-thirds innings, allowing two runs on two hits while fanning five batters. Walsh led the Bees offense with a 2-for-4 performance, which included a home run and two RBI. With a home run in the contest, Walsh has belted four home runs in his last two games. Rojas extended his hitting streak to 11 games and has reached base safely in his last 26 home games played.

The Bees finish up their homestand on Thursday night at 7:05 p.m. The team will continue their 25th anniversary celebration with Salt Lake Buzz night tomorrow. The team will celebrate the 1994-2000 era by wearing throwback Buzz uniforms that will be available for purchase on the Smith's Ballpark concourse.
