SAN ANTONIO, TX - A tetrad of home runs were the difference as the San Antonio Missions (64-40) secured the series with a 9-1 win over the Iowa Cubs (57-47), Thursday at Nelson W. Wolff Stadium.

Mauricio Dubon generated the game's first scoring with a home run in the first to set the tone for the Missions. Matt Swarmer (L, 5-10) retired 10 straight following the blast, but the groove was spoiled with two outs in the fourth. Hernan Perez doubled the San Antonio lead with another long ball and a Lucas Erceg single brought in the second run of the frame.

The Missions' bats sizzled as the home team put up four runs in the fifth and two in the sixth to run away with the lead. Tuffy Gosewisch and Cory Spangenberg provided the offense with homers in the fifth as Trent Grisham did the damage in the following frame with a two-RBI triple.

The I-Cubs got their leadoff hitter on base in each of the first four innings and in five frames on the night, but were unable to collect on the offense. The I-Cubs' only run of the game came on a solo shot from Dixon Machado in the sixth - his 12th of the season.

Swarmer worked through 5.1 innings and was tagged with nine earned runs to set a career high. James Norwood (1.2 IP, K) and Danny Hultzen (1.0 IP, 2K) collaborated for a scoreless relief effort.

POSTGAME NOTES:

- Trent Giambrone logged his third multi-hit game in his last four contests with a 2-for-3 game.

- Dixon Machado went 2-for-4 with a home run.

- Matt Swarmer's 30 home runs allowed are a single-season Iowa franchise record. Nate Teut formerly held the record with 28 given up in 2001.
