
Islanders Recall DiPietro, Reassign Kochan

BRIDGEPORT, CT âThe American Hockey League's Bridgeport Sound Tigers, the top affiliate of the National Hockey League's New York Islanders, have announced the recall of Goaltender Rick DiPietro by the big club and the reassignment of Goaltender Dieter Kochan to Bridgeport.
Kochan set a Sound Tigers' single-game record with 48 saves in this past Sunday's 5-4 overtime road win over the Hershey Bears and was recalled by the Islanders Monday. He is 11-4-4 with a 1.75 goals against average, .938 save percentage and three shutouts in 19 AHL games with the Sound Tigers this season.
DiPietro is 7-8-1 with a 2.46 goals against average, .897 save percentage and one shutout in 18 NHL games with the Islanders this season. He was assigned to the Sound Tigers Monday and played in two games this week posting an 0-2 record, including an overtime loss, as well as a 1.51 goals against average and .945 save percentage.
The Sound Tigers will host the Norfolk Admirals this Saturday at 7:05 p.m. and Hershey Bears this Sunday at 4:05 p.m. The two games will be their first at home after a calendar-year-ending stretch of seven straight road games, on which they were 4-2-0-1.
The Sound Tigers will also hold their third-annual "Pride In America Weekend" this Saturday and Sunday with specially-priced tickets available for all military personnel, police officers and firefighters. The Sound Tigers will auction their blue third jerseys Saturday with proceeds going to the Sound Tigers Foundation. The Connecticut Post will also giveaway team photos and there will be a full-team, autograph session Sunday.
This Saturday and Sunday will also be "Scout Weekend" with specially-priced tickets available to scouts and their families. Scouts who attend either game in uniform will receive a special souvenir patch while supplies last. Each pack, troop, etc. that attends either game will also be recognized on the video display boards and public address system.
Sound Tigers individual-game tickets are on sale at Bridgeport's Arena at Harbor Yard box office Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., Saturday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. and on all game days, as well as on-line at www.ticketmaster.com or by calling Ticketmaster at 203-368-1000.
